When you think of radio frequency (RF) transmitters and receivers, does your mind go straight to automatic gates or garage doors? You’re not alone!
But RF technology does so much more than that.
The CDVI range of RF products prioritises flexibility, easy installation, and retrofitting. As a result, they suit a wide range of applications you might not have thought about.
In this article, we’ll explain how some of those applications could work.
From wall switch to home automation – with no additional wiring
Turning wall switches into smooth home automation doesn’t have to be difficult.
Our ultra-compact in-wall transmitters operate on 230Vac with a slim design that means they fit easily behind a standard wall switch.
In addition, our RF receiver with a DIN rail mount design can be installed inside a home’s existing electrical distribution board.
Together, these products allow wireless signals to be sent from the wall switch to the receiver and then onwards to a home automation system.
There’s no need for additional control wiring, and it’s an ideal solution for retrofitting.
Wherever mains voltage is available but no control wiring has been installed, it’s easy to add a new switch or control point without chasing cables or making a mess of walls.
From home automation to wall switch – still completely wireless
The opposite of this setup is also possible with our DIN rail transmitter connected to the home automation system instead of the receiver.
One or more receivers can be installed throughout the home ready to trigger different actions.
When the home automation system sends a trigger, the transmitter sends a signal to the relevant receiver(s), which in turn triggers the action.
Our receivers operate on 230Vac and can switch loads up to 500W directly.
That makes them ideal for automating control of lighting, HVAC systems, electrical appliances, and many other electrical items at home.
