End of Support for ievo REV3 & REV4S Fingerprint Readers and Control Boards

Effective date: 21st September 2026

Product discontinuation and support history

The ievo REV3 and REV4S product ranges were discontinued in 2018, before the ievo brand was acquired by CDVI Ltd.

Since that time, ievo and CDVI have continued to support customers with existing REV3 and REV4S installations and have maintained stocks of replacement parts wherever possible.

However, the components required to repair REV3 and REV4S readers and control boards, or to replenish our stocks of replacement parts, are no longer available. Our remaining stocks of replacement parts have now been exhausted.

As a result, CDVI will withdraw its general support services for the REV3 and REV4S product range with effect from 1st November 2026.

What this means for existing REV3 installations

From the effective date:

  • CDVI will no longer offer replacement-part supply, out-of-warranty repair or product replacement services for REV3 or REV4S readers and control boards as part of its general support offering.
  • CDVI will no longer issue security, firmware, or software updates for REV3 or REV4S interface boards.
  • CDVI will no longer develop or issue updates intended to maintain REV3 or REV4S compatibility with other hardware, software or third-party integrations.
  • Where REV3 or REV4S equipment fails and a suitable replacement component is unavailable, customers should arrange for their installation to be assessed to determine an appropriate replacement or upgrade solution, including migration to the current REV4 platform where suitable.

Nothing in this notice affects any rights or remedies arising under an existing contract, warranty or applicable law. Any continuing contractual or legal obligations will be addressed in accordance with their applicable terms and requirements.

Migration to the current REV4 platform

REV4 is not backwards-compatible with REV3 or REV4S hardware.

Depending on the configuration of an existing installation, migration to REV4 may therefore require the replacement of REV3 or REV4S fingerprint readers, control boards and other affected components. We recognise that this may represent a significant commitment for customers with existing REV3 or REV4S installations.

We recommend that customers and their appointed installers assess their existing systems and consider an appropriate transition plan before their REV3 or REV4S equipment reaches the end of its operational life.

Technical assistance and transition planning

Our technical team is available to assist customers and partners with:

  • Assessing existing REV3 or REV4S installations and identifying components that may require replacement.
  • Understanding REV4 compatibility and integration requirements.
  • Identifying potential data-migration and user re-enrolment requirements.
  • Planning an appropriate upgrade or replacement solution.

Customers and their appointed installers should ensure that any migration is planned and carried out in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements. This includes the secure handling, transfer or deletion of biometric templates and other personal data, where applicable.

The compatibility of existing biometric templates with REV4 should be confirmed before migration, and re-enrolment may be required.
